Philippine Independence Day 2025

Yesterday, the Local Government Unit of Malita celebrated the 127th independence day of the Republic of the Philippines. The celebration was led by the acting Municipal Mayor, Honorable Vice Mayor Estefanie Bautista-Dumama. The ceremonial march was led by members of the Philippine National Police-Davao Occidental Police Provincial Office, 73rd Infantry “Neutralizer” Battalion, the Philippine Coastguard, and the Bureau of Fire Protection.

Highlights of the celebration included the offering of flowers, a portrayal of our history, and a cultural dance performance by Kasinag Sidakan Performing Ensemble. The celebration was also joined by SPAMAST SUC President Lynette Bontia, DILG Municipal Local Government Operations Officer Farhaana Faiz. Also present during the event were the department heads and employees of LGU Malita and guests.

Last May 24, 2025, the 65th Palarong Pambansa officially opened at the Ferdinand E. Marcos Memorial Stadium in Laoag City, Ilocos Norte, led by President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.

Training for Cash for Work

The Local Government Unit (LGU) of Malita, in collaboration with the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), successfully conducted a comprehensive Training for Cash for Work as part of the DSWD’s “Lawa at Binhi Program.” This initiative brought together three participating barangays: Brgy. Pangaleon, Brgy. Kilalag, and Brgy. Datu Danwata. These barangays were selected to benefit from the program, which aims to enhance community resilience and provide economic support through structured employment opportunities.
