Training for Cash for Work
The Local Government Unit (LGU) of Malita, in collaboration with the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), successfully conducted a comprehensive Training for Cash for Work as part of the DSWD’s “Lawa at Binhi Program.” This initiative brought together three participating barangays: Brgy. Pangaleon, Brgy. Kilalag, and Brgy. Datu Danwata. These barangays were selected to benefit from the program, which aims to enhance community resilience and provide economic support through structured employment opportunities.
During the Cash for Work Training, the LGU organized a series of informative sessions featuring expert speakers from various government agencies. Representatives from the Department of Agriculture, the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO), the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), and the Municipal Environment and Natural Resources Office (MENRO) shared their insights and expertise with the participants. This collaborative effort enriched the training experience, allowing participants to gain valuable knowledge about sustainable agricultural practices, disaster preparedness, fire safety, and environmental conservation.
The benefits of this training extend beyond immediate employment opportunities. Participants not only acquire essential skills and knowledge that can enhance their livelihoods, but they also become more equipped to address local challenges such as natural disasters and environmental issues. By fostering a sense of community involvement and responsibility, the program promotes social cohesion and empowers individuals to contribute positively to their barangays. Ultimately, the Cash for Work Training serves as a vital stepping stone toward building a more resilient and sustainable future for the residents of Malita.
