The Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office (MSWDO) successfully held the First Joint Quarterly Meeting of the Local Council for the Protection of Children (LCPC) and the Local Committee Against Trafficking and Violence Against Women and Children (LCAT-VAWC) today in the Conference Room. This significant gathering brought together our VAWC Desk Officer and representatives from various local government offices in Malita, emphasizing the collaborative effort to address pressing social issues in our community.

The agenda for the Quarterly Meeting was comprehensive, featuring a presentation of accomplishment reports and updates on the status of cases from the first quarter of 2025. Key topics included discussions on Children in Conflict with the Law (CICL), Child At Risk (CAR) as per RA 8353 (Anti-Rape), as well as Youth and Foster Care initiatives and the provisions of RA 9262 concerning Violence Against Women and Children (VAWC). Additionally, participants received an orientation on the Expanded Solo Parents Welfare Act (RA 11861), enhancing their understanding of important legislative measures. Notably, Ms. Farhaana Faiz, MLGOO Malita from the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG), also attended, providing valuable insights and updates relevant to the objectives of the LCPC and LCAT-VAWC.

The meeting concluded with an open forum, which served as a platform for participants to engage in meaningful dialogue regarding the challenges and successes in their work. This interactive segment allowed attendees to share experiences, pose questions, and explore potential solutions collaboratively. The event wrapped up with photo documentation, capturing the collective commitment of all participants to protect and support vulnerable populations in our community.
