2024 Women’s Month Celebration

The Women’s Association of Malita (WAM) commemorated the 2024 National Women’s Month with an opening program with a theme: Lipunang Patas sa Bagong Pilipinas: Kakayahan ng Kababaihan, Patutunayan!

The program commenced with a eucharistic celebration presided over by Rev. Fr. Rogelio Albite, DCD. In his disposition, Father Yoyong pertains that women empowerment isn’t a competition among men but it is just a “complexity” for gender equality.

On the other hand, Madam Jean Seekins Bautista, WAM President emphasized the role of every woman as a wonder woman regardless of individual’s status. Hence, she expressed herself as she possesses the traits of being “strong-willed” and “strong-hearted” are the key as she turned the fortress leader of the growing Women’s Association of Malita for 8 years.

This year’s Women’s Month keynote speaker, Mrs. Lynette A. Bontia, the 6th SPAMAST President considers the national theme that women should be GREAT in shaping society as well as in their own family. Thus, according to her, GREAT stands for God-fearing, Resilience, Effective and Efficient, Adaptive, and Teachers.

We are grateful for the all-out support of our local government officials especially Hon. Mayor Bradly L. Bautista for a surprised harana, Gov. Atty. Franklin P. Bautista, Vice Gov. Madam Lorna Bautista Bandigan, and the rest of the Team Bautista, SB Members especially Hon. Carlo Chino Baliota and Hon. Girly D. Licuan in embracing the event, the 58 associations of the WAM community, the participating team of national government agencies, private institutions, and uniformed personnel in making this program a success.

Together, we can make a difference and create a more inclusive and gender-equal society in this local government unit.
