15th GAGINAWAY SA MALITA Festival

The Gaginaway Festival, a celebration of unity and bountiful blessings celebrated by the Malitaños every full moon of November, based on the traditional custom and belief that full moon is at its brightest during this period and that the “lumads” love to have a festival of merry-making, enjoying the beautiful view of the moon shining brightly on them. Credits to our very own, Benjamin Joseph Bautista, who is the founder of Gaginaway when he was still serving as Municipal Mayor of Malita. The founder is also known as Datu Alimbulungan.

The Gaginaway Festival is celebrated in full moon date of November every year by the four major ICCs/IPs in Malita – Tagakaulo, Blaan, Muslim & Manobo groups.
